"Trip to China in April 2020 (Mount Qingcheng, Tibet, Chengdu)"
For many years, the Zhigong Institute Europe and the Life Qi Center offer trips to China to experience Zhineng Qigong exercises and theories. In 2020 they will offer a trip to China (Qingcheng Mountains and Chengdu) and Tibet (Lhasa and Linzhi).
The trip will start in the Mount Qingcheng in Sichuan Province, one of the most famous Taoist mountains in China. It is also a very attractive and intriguing scenic spot that is covered by luxuriant and verdant trees. The mountain, which is surrounded by numerous peaks and is shaped like a city, is dubbed ‘the most peaceful and secluded mountain under heaven’ and combines perfectly with its evergreen scenery.
In Mount Qingcheng you will practice six days Zhineng Qigong with Master Yuantong Liu. He will teach Zhineng Qigong exercises, breathing technics and meditations to prepare your trip to Tibet. Lhasa is 3500 meters high and it’s important to be well prepared, physically and mentally. After the Zhineng Qigong practice week you will travel from Chengdu to Lhasa by plane.
Lhasa (literally the ‘Place of Gods’) is largely a city of wonders. Your first view of the Potala Palace soaring above the holy city will raise goosebumps and the charming whitewashed old Tibetan quarter continues to preserve the flavor or traditional Tibetan life. The visit to the former home of the Dalai Lamas is a spiraling descent past gold-tombed chapels, opulent reception rooms and huge prayer halls.
In Lhasa you will visit the Potala Palace, the Sera Monastery and the Old quarter. The Potala Palace can be explored on foot for the real beauty and exquisite interiors wrapped in the olden charm. The palace has fort-alike look and stretched walls on the outside. With all the 13 stores open for the travellers and tourists to experience and look, the palace offers a great deal of historic wisdom and eye-pleasing architecture, the palace houses pilgrims, beautiful chapels, golden stupas, prayer rooms, and much more. The Sera monastery is magnificent and colorful debates on Buddhist doctrines are held here and these employ a style distinctive from those at Lhasa’s other famous monasteries.
After you visited the old quarter, the Potala Palace and Sera Monastery you will continue to travel to Linzhi. On the way to Linzhi you will visit a cultural village and Draksumtso (Basongtso) Lake, considered the most beautiful lake among many in Eastern Tibet at an altitude of 3600m and covering an area of 26 square kilometers. You will spend time enjoying the green waters of this natural wonder and taking in the vistas of the surrounding high peaks, before you continue the trip to Linzhi.
During your stay in Linzhi you will visit Lulang scenic valley (3300m). Lulang in Tibetan language is Dragon Valley, or a place that “one will not miss hometown any more”. In reality, Lulang Forest Sea is known as a fairyland with scenic beauties that the gods live in. In every spring from April to June, it is a season of full-blown azaleas all over the forest and meadow, which attracts a great quantity of mountain birds add beauty to the virgin forest of Lulang and its villages and streams.
After your stay in Linzhi you will fly back to Chengdu. This provincial capital is also known as a relatively easygoing counterpart to China’s unending hustle. People smile a bit more, take it slower than the nationwide average and enjoy eating all afternoon and then retiring to watch a Sichuan Opera show at their favorite local teahouse. It’s no wonder really. Sichuan cuisine is incredibly diverse, featuring ingredients many Westerners have never seen before, in combinations that can be both sweet and spicy, savory and refreshing. Every local tea drinker knows that the Himalayan foothills surrounding Chengdu also produce a little-known, but exquisite green tea that has inspired poets and travelers for centuries.
‘Wherever you have friends, that’s your country. Wherever you receive love, that’s your home. (proverb from Tibet)
